DOWN TO EARTH

This table is a result of my ongoing experimentation with clay, more specifically how a slab of clay can capture forms and in a way 'freeze' it in time. The making of this piece had quite a performative aspect to it, as the slab was rolled out and tossed over the circular table top and instantly draped itself around it.
The visual movement this table embodies in combination with the rigidity of the materials themselves makes for a piece of furniture that is never static.
